Florida Coast: Bikini Breaks

The Location

With almost 1,200 miles of coastline and more than 650 miles of beaches, there are plenty of places in Florida for you to show off your MINX bikini. Many of Florida’s most beautiful beach towns have gotten a bad rap over the years as Spring Break central - and, to be fair, some of them still are. But Spring Break only lasts about a month total, and several cities have spruced up their image to welcome the grown-ups among us who still love to have fun in the sun.

The Scene: Day

Everyone is talking about Salvation Sundays at the W Hotel, Fort Lauderdale. It’s a daytime pool party that will have you rethinking what Sundays are all about - especially if you go to the daytime pool party on Saturdays at Shaka Jon’s Oceanfront Tiki Bar. And upscale hotels Westin, Hilton and Ritz-Carlton all boast beachfront service as well as heated pools - and the Ritz in particular has an unbelievable outdoor area around theirs, totaling 29,000 square feet.

Farther north along the Atlantic coast is the lovely St. Augustine, and the St. Augustine Beachfront Resort is where you should stay. They have beach tiki huts, and hold onto your bikini as you slip down their 116-foot tall waterslide!

Over on the Gulf Coast, Clearwater is a popular destination with both bay and Gulf coasts along the mainland as well as Sand Key. The Hilton wins out once again here as a top location for both beachside and poolside fun, but you haven’t seen anything until you’ve visited the Sheraton Sand Key. Their private beach is impossibly clean and white (the better to show off your colorful MINX bikini!) and the beachside pool scene is 100 percent luxury. It’s a class act all the way.

The Scene: Night

In Fort Lauderdale, Shaka Jon’s has red-hot bands, cool DJs and if you decide to stay in your MINX bikini on certain nights, your drinks for free. But even after the Spring Break kiddies have gone back to school, Daytona Beach is where the party is, all year ‘round - from the Biketober Fest Bikini Party in October to wet bikini contests and Ladies Nights all up and down Daytona’s beachfront clubs.

If you’d rather change out of your MINX bikini and into something slinky for clubbing, over on the Gulf coast Tampa is the city for DJ-fueled parties that last all night long. Hyde Park Cafe always has a party going on, and Club Skye, The Kennedy and Sin City never disappoint.

Other Top Spots

We’ve focused on hotels, pools, bars and beaches here, but there is no lack of things to do while showing off your MINX bikini on the Florida coast. Go jet skiing, take a glass-bottom boat ride and snorkel, play with dolphins, or just read a book on the beach!
