Cheating Without Guilt
Posted by Bianca Kellaway on June 19, 2012You've been on the MINX Bikini Diet Plan for two weeks now and are probably pretty darn excited about the results so far. You may think we're crazy to suggest you start cheating, when you've been so good. However, cheating is an important part of not only staying on the plan but learning how to eat the “bad stuff” in a way that won't bring that weight right back on.
Don't Make the Mistake Fad Diets Make!
While the foods list on the MINX Bikini Diet Plan is made up of very healthy choices, real life is filled with plenty of delicious foods that aren't on the diet....and real women want them!
One of the biggest reasons fad diets eventually (usually sooner rather than later) fail is that they're just too rigid. Food is delicious. Healthy food is yummy. So are pizza, ice cream and pasta. Life is meant to be enjoyed and so are all of the foods we have available to us. The key to enjoying those foods without destroying your health, your diet or your beautiful shape is to enjoy your favorite “forbidden foods” the right way.
The Guilt-Free Guide to Cheating
Starting this week, preferably at the end of your week, plan to have one forbidden food. Not a buffet, not an entire meal made up of forbidden foods, but one forbidden treat. It might be an ice cream sundae, a slice of pizza, a hamburger or your favorite pasta dish. Whatever food you've been seriously craving for two weeks, that's the food you need to treat yourself to.
Do It Up Right!
This treat should be a reward for work well done-sticking to the diet plan all week. It also should serve to motivate you to stay on track. Plan it all week. Look forward to it. Plan it for a time when you can really savor it. Don't waste the calories and the opportunity on gobbling down a burger from the drive-thru. If a burger or fries is what you carve, have it. Just do it sitting down, relaxed and with the time to really enjoy it.
Don't waste your cheat treat on something that you could take or leave. Make it count. Make it fabulous.
Don't Go Crazy!
If you stay in control, you won't do any damage to your progress. One slice of pizza won't hurt you, but a whole pie will. You also want to make sure that this is a treat that will remain special, not a binge you never want to repeat. If you want a sundae, have one. If you want fettuccine Alfredo, have a reasonable portion (about half what you'll get in a restaurant). The good news is, you'll be surprised at how easy it is to not overdo it. Your body has gotten used to a different way of eating, just in the last two weeks. It'll be a lot easier to resist overeating than it may have been not long ago.
The cheat should be apart of your plan from now on, once a week. It will help you to train yourself for more intelligent cheating once you're off the diet and at your goal weight. If you'll be continuing the diet for several more weeks, it'll help you stay motivated, too.
